At the recent 57th annual conference of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Julie Flaatten CMA (AAMA), RN, EMT-B was elected as the new Secretary-Treasurer for 2013 to 2015.
Flaatten brings a great deal of experience to her office. She has worked in family practice for 30 years at the Marshfield Clinic's Greenwood and Cadott Centers, and has also served as an adjunct medical assisting instructor for Globe University and Northcentral Technical College.
Flaatten has served on many committees and strategy teams for the AAMA, including the Professional Awareness and Expansion Task Force, the Membership Development Strategy Team, the Bylaws and Resolutions Committee, the Strategic Issues Planning Committee. She also served as a Trustee from 2009-2013.
The purpose of the American Association of Medical Assistants is to promote the professional identity and stature of its members and the medical assisting profession through education and credentialing
Based on her experience and track record, we're sure she will do an excellent job of helping the AAMA achieve its purpose over the next two years.
